Take a look at all these vegetables and fruits! September 2011 garden

Agnus, Francis and the chickens would always come over to the fence and wait for me to throw out any slug eaten strawberries or leaves off the plants.

My garden is doing so well.
Carrots and basil.

Eggplants. I've never grown them before and the plant looks healthy but no eggplants are growing yet.

Ainsley and Jovie are trying to hide behind the asparagus.

I was so excited to have the cantaloupe and honeydew melon grow. This was the first year I've ever grown these. And they did well and tasted so good.

A white pumpkin. It's called a Ghost pumpkin.

Tomatoes did ok.

Jackolantern pumpkins.

Giant sunflowers.

Some of our bounty we were blessed with. From eggs to produce.

David and Misty told me that it was the best cantaloupe they have ever eaten. Made me feel good. I had enough that I shared with all the kids and their families.

I'm thankful for our blessings of the bounty our garden produced and that we were able to share with others. And it's not done yet!

Sunset on Mill Creek

The night before these pictures were taken I went into town and saw the most beautiful sunset. Of course I didn't have my camera and so the next evening I took my camera, drove down the road and was really hoping that the sunset was just as beautiful. I was not disappointed.

Amber waves of grain.
I took the harvest picture in August but thought this would be a great place to put it.
It's a cool picture I think. I love living in the country.

Having fun with Mae and Owen. Part 2

Rachel had a race and a hair show all in the same weekend and so I got to watch Mae and Owen. We did some fun things while they were here.  Mae has been wanting for Papa J to take her fishing. So Mae, Owen, Larry and I went fishing.
First off I wanted to show everyone what a cute pink fishing pole Mae has that Papa is fishing with.

Mae and Papa caught a fish!

Wow! What a fish!

Owen tried his hand at fishing. He liked it until...

their was a fish on the hook. He wouldn't get near it at all.

I really like this picture.

Over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go.

Mae and Jovie really love being together.

The library was having some fun activities. Crafts, face painting etc. So we went to participate.

The library took the next couple of pictures and gave us a paper copy so I scanned them in.

We got to see Curious George and have our picture taken with him but Mae was not curious. She wouldn't get near him.

Face painting was cool. Owen got a spider web on his cheek. I got a heart and Mae got an awesome painted head band.

One of the afternoons we went to see Alpaca's and Llama's with April, Jovie and Ainsley. The kids got to feed them and feel their fur. We also took a walking test and since the kids got all the answers they got a cute finger puppet made out of alpaca yarn. This was Owen's and Ainsley's favorite place on the whole farm.

The weekend went too fast. I'm happy that Mae and Owen got to come and visit.

McCall, Idaho vacation September 2011

Larry and I went to a vacation spot we've never been to before and it's a place we are definitely going to go back to. Lakes, bike trails, golfing, hiking, fishing, boating, hot springs, shopping, eateries and lots more in one area.
We really liked it. Did I say that already?
Larry and I biked almost 30 miles around McCall lake.

Larry's checking out areas where their may be huckleberries.

We found some!

They reminded me of blueberries.

Another view from our bike ride. Beautiful!
We are going to take a canoe on the inlet the next time we go.

Golfing is another choice of activity for us. We bike because I like it. We golf because Larry's likes it. Compromise is a good thing.

hat couldn't be Larry looking for his ball could it? Noooo.

Great shot! He got it over.

My turn. I got over this one.

Not this one. It's so far!

We went to one of the natural hot springs in the area. It was really nice.

We were only there 2 1/2 days and crammed a bunch of stuff in but we booked 3 condo's for us and our kids next summer for a whole week. I'm looking forward to going back!
