Mae and Clara's bears, shhh

These are Mae and Clara's bears I knitted for them. Mae's is the brown one and Clara's the pink. Mae's will be a gift for her birthday and Clara's for Christmathanks. It's a secret so don't tell them:) April and I took a class to learn to make the bear. It's fun.

Jovie is testing them out to make sure they will be fun for her cousins. Her mommy made her one.

Happy 30th Anniversary to us!

Today Larry and I celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I thought I would share some pictures from that event in our life...
We were married in the Manti Temple in Manti Utah. It is a beautiful and old temple. I wanted to get married there since I went on a youth temple trip and attended the Manti pageant. My wishes were fulfilled:)

Photography has really improved since we were married. We had our wedding reception a few days after we were married. One of my older sisters Velma Jean made my wedding dress. It cost me about $75.00 for the material and pattern.

The hand picture every bride and groom does. It's a good thing we have this picture it helps us remember what Larry's wedding band looked like. He lost his first ring and his 2nd ring but he bought him for "me" a present which was another wedding band a couple of years ago but we need to have it sized.

Our parents. When I decided to do this blog and I didn't realize how emotional I would get as I looked at the pictures and remembering my mom and dad and how much I miss them. Yes, I cried. Larry's parents actually drove us to the temple and back home. That was kind of them, we were grateful. We got our actual honeymoon for our 10th year anniversary.

My "younger" sister. She didn't like it when I called her my little sister,LOL. This too brought out emotion in me. I miss Brenda also. Yes, I cried again. I wonder what it would have been like for us to raise our children together and share experiences with each other of our life and families. We weren't close as teenagers but it was coming and then we missed out on the window of opportunity (after she was killed on her mission in an auto accident) that comes when you become adults and grow up and love each other. I'm soooo grateful my daughters have grasped that opportunity and are taking full advantage and sharing their lives of being sisters, adults, moms, wives and still our daughters together. Advice... it's not worth to hold on to anger or grudges that can strain family relationships. Do what it takes to help your family be whole.

We were kind to each and did not smash the cake into each others faces. Larry knew better. He still knows better:)

I don't remember who caught the bouquet but it was fun.

Our first dance together as husband and wife. We danced to the song Inseparable sung by Natalie Cole I believe. We have had many dances in life over the journey of 30 years as a married couple that have been graceful but at times also out of rhythm, with family, children, extended family, work, home, finances, natural disasters, fire, death but we have gotten through together strengthened in our love and commitment to each other and living the gospel. No, our marriage isn't perfect but it's better than 30 years ago and you know what? We have eternity to work on it.

Happy anniversary to me and I know we'll still have those days we're dancing in rhythm and days were not but here's to ETERNITY and the joy in the dance!

Michael's Mission Call!!!

After waiting for 5 long weeks Michael's call came in the mail today.

He has been called to serve in the Independence, Missouri, Mission! He is to report to the Missionary Training Center on November 19th. Do you realize that is only a little over 2 months? Oh my goodness so much to do in so little time. He'll be familiar with the area when we go back if you know what I mean:)
