Family Home Evening at McCall Idaho

I am including this little tid bit because Misty learned by doing Family History research that we are related to royalty way way back in our lines. She was sharing with us what she learned as she was preparing a talk she was to give the following week at church.

David taught a really nice lesson for FHE and then we played a game of Funny Bones.
It is pretty hilarious. Whatever the card says you need to put the card in between those two bones.
You can get into some pretty odd predicaments.

Like this.

Must be elbow bone to the ear bone.

Not sure what bone this is but I'm sure Jess is laughing. So it must be the funny bone.

Then we had treats, of course.

McCall Idaho Family Reunion Vacation Day 1 & 2

Larry and I went to McCall Idaho last year and loved it. We wanted to share it with our children so we reserved 3 condo's for a week this last August and had us some fun. We were pretty loaded when we left home. Forgot how much stuff you have to take for little ones. We had April, Jovie, Ainsley and Asher riding with us.

Larry's mom and dad took care of Ruby for us. We really appreciated it! This is how I left Ruby. She is so sweet. Yes, I love my dog.

We arrived to McCall Idaho on Friday but on Saturday we went to a beach where we could rent canoes and paddle boards. What fun!!! Papa J, Nathan and Gabe paddling away in the lake. These are the things that I hope our grandchildren will remember. That we love being with them and playing together.

Everyone got a turn. And we were all hoping in and out of different boats going with different people. The weather was so nice. Misty, Aria, Hyrum and David.

Mae is such a doll.

Jovie loved the sand and water. Jovie and Mae would rather play in the sand the ride in a boat.

Linda and Larry. The grandparents of the bunch waiting for the grand kids to gather around.

Here are 10 out of the 12. Love them!

Mother daughter canoe ride.

April keeping Asher out of the sun and sand while he falls asleep.

We had a nice spot on the beach with the picnic tables, sand and shade trees.

Rachel was reading a good book on her Kindle.

Rachel and April was taking a boat out. April had a bit of a problem getting is. But no one was hurt in the process. Hehe.

Wait! The little ones shout.
(I'm not sure if they are going to be able to go anywhere. But shhh maybe they will figure it out.)

Ainsley with her water wings on swam out to the canoe. I think of all the little ones she loved riding in the boat the most and would get in whenever she could. She did not want her mom and Aunty Rae to go without her. So she swam to them.

Good thing Aunty is strong.

Oh now they may get somewhere. April and Rachel are finally facing the same direction.

Aria and Misty made it back!

Sisters. Need I say more?

We took turns making the dinner meal which was really nice to share the load and eat at least one meal together. It was all very yummy!

Saturday evening Rachel, Mae, Owen, Jovie, Larry and I went to the Gold Spring Hot Springs. I love that place. Their are several different types of pools from really really hot to mildly warm. One even has sand on the bottom. It is so relaxing to be in the hot springs.

Jovie was checking out the waterfall in the sand pool.

Mae got in on the fun too.

A water monster. Let's get him!

Asher

Asher. Yep that's it. Asher. Cute.

Garden in August 2012

A few pictures from the garden that I took in August.
The lavender got lots bigger than last year.

Raspberries, corn, cantaloupe and watermelon.

Various squash.

Green peppers, chives, rhubarb, basil, beets, green onions and misc.

Acorn squash, yellow squash, lettuce, strawberries and tomato's.
I tried a new way to support the tomato's this year. It worked really well except next year I will use wire not string. The string broke a couple of times.

Strawberries.

We had SO many strawberries and raspberries this year. It's so nice for the smoothies we've been drinking.

Playtime With Grandkids

I love being a grandma. It brings me a lot of joy. Sometimes the grand kids are so excited to me that when I show up they get all excited like I'm a rock star. They run to me, hug me and give me lots of kisses. Well the younger ones any way... But the older ones used to be younger and I have memories of the same...
I spent a weekend watching Misty's kids except Hyrum in July so we called up Ethan and his momma to go play.
Ethan is swimming!

Good thing the dinosaur isn't hungry.

Swing Set? Yes! No? Maybe?

How old is Nathan our oldest grandson? 11 1/2. For years and years we have told him that Papa J was going to build a swing set at our place. We've been waiting and waiting. One year for my birthday Larry drew me a set of plans for the swing set he was going to build and the top beam put into the barn.
6 or plus years later he has begun but the plans were changed. Still using the same beam for the swings.

By the way... Larry is really strong.

I helped!!! After he got the beam up as he was securing it I help a board under the beam praying that the beam wouldn't slip and fall on my head.

As I'm holding the beam up he is figuring out how to secure it in place.

Ropes and cinches worked.

The swing set is now going to be 2 or 3 swings hanging from the beam that is attached to a tree behind the house and the back of our house.

That's as far as we've gotten. It's winter now so we will wait to finish and I want real swings and chain not seats of carpet as was suggested. So when spring comes... Swing Set? Yes!

Yes, I'm 53 years old

53 years old and counting.

I had Larry take my picture on my 53rd birthday just for kicks.
