Garden update August 2010

And it's growing and growing and growing. In the forefront are my rows of strawberries that I've gotten over a 100 pounds of strawberries from and I am still picking them. In the back right are green beens. To the left of the green beans I have 4 different kinds of basil plants growing. I love the smell! I have regular basil, cinnamon basil, thai basil and pineapple basil. Rhubarb and asparagus are in the back middle by the fence and then I have quite a few tomato plants. Far back left is the corn and raspberry plants. The middle bushy plants are zucchini (which I am grateful we only planted 1 this year), cucumber and different varieties of squash.
Different view. The bottom left are some of our blueberry bushes which we have picked blueberries off of this year. Then the middle left is a large pumpkin plant and the big bushy one on the right is a yellow crooked neck summer squash that we transplanted from the compost pile where it was growing.  We do have regular size pumpkin vines growing to the right of the large yellow crooked neck squash but I didn't get a picture of that. They are spreading nicely.
Here are our tomato plants. We also transplanted 3 or so of these that were growing in the compost pile. We don't know what kind they are yet. I had read online that you don't need to stake up tomato plants if you have the room for them to sprawl so we are trying that this year. Plus given the fact that I didn't get around to staking them. Shhhhh don't tell anyone. The feathery plants on the left are the asparagus that have gone to seed.
This is a better view of the basil, marigolds, green beans, green pepper, jalapeno and rhubarb.
Close up of raspberries and corn.
I haven't had the heart to pull these out of our compost. Sooooo we have several more tomato plants growing. I can tell one plant is a large tomato other than that we are waiting to see.
Tomatoes anyone?
