The circus came to town!

I love seeing the expressions on children as they see things for the first time. Their is usually an awe about it all. With Jovie it is more of a concentrated look.
She saw the lions and is roaring to them.

Oh look! Like mother like daughter. lol
They brought ponies out to ride and she got sooo excited and wanted to ride them. When I actually got her to the horse though she was saying no, no, no. So we petted the pony for a bit and then she got on but clung to me.
This picture was really really light and so you couldn't see us at all. I played around with it and thought this looked cool. Jovie is actually watching the horse do his business. If you want to see it better double click on it to make it bigger.
I'm glad she's starting to enjoy it:)
During intermission we were able to get really close to a bear and the elephants.
The elephants did cool tricks.
I believe we had a grand time. Blue face and all.

Fun with Clara, Mae, Gabe, Aria and Nathan

Have I ever mentioned how much Ruby LOVES children in high chairs? Maybe not so much the kids as the food they drop. Clara dropped a Cheerio on Ruby's bum. lol
We had a trampoline up in our attic that wasn't being used. Nathan was having a birthday so we decided to give it to Nathan for his Birthday. He is more than willing to share it. Misty and I set it up while Nathan was at school. Clara, Mae and Gabe got to play on it while we waited for Nathan and Aria to get home from school.
Mae testing out her trampoline legs and Clara her trampoline bum.
Running around in circles is great fun!
Gabe getting in on the action. It's hard for Mae to stand up when Gabe is running and jumping. Clara is enjoying bouncing.

Clara's hair is standing on end. lol. Just like Mae's momma likes to fix hers.
Shhhhh here comes Nathan.
Surprise!!! He loves it.
Jump high Nathan and Aria. Jump high!!!
Maybe this will help them go to sleep easier at night... you think? NOT!

Slumber party with Jovie

Larry and I actually had a weekend that wasn't filled with Young Adult things or stuff we had to do so we decided to invite Jovie over for a slumber party. I have to admit though that her mom planted the idea:) But we are glad she did. We watched a movie, had some ice cream, and played. These are just a few pictures I thought I'd share.
This was the horse that we had for Michael. I can't remember if we had it for the other kids or not. I enjoy seeing our grandchildren playing on it now.
I had to put these next three pictures in because the faces that she made were all made within just a few seconds. It was funny.

Jovie LOVES to play in the kitchen. She is stirring up something yummy. She kept feeding it to me too.
As she was coloring this picture she would say over and over...circle, circle, circle. She knew what she was drawing:)
One thing about a slumber party for someone this age is that they don't know a slumber party isn't really for slumbering. She did sleep pretty good. Yea for us!

Our garden is planted

I thought if I blogged my garden a few times this summer it would help me keep on top of the weeding. :) Our strawberries. These are nice looking if I do say so myself.

Larry picking our bounty.

Tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, chives, asparagus, blueberries ect. Everything is planted. Now to keep it watered, weeded and watch it grow.

Our garden is about 50' x 60'.

I got a start of this Rhubarb plant from Misty and David's house. It's beautiful I think. I haven't made anything from it yet this year but I better get on the ball and do it. Ripe strawberries and the rhubarb ooooh yum! That will make something yummy together.

Ooooops...

April and I were in the kitchen making tacos. Jovie was doing what Jovie does.

Larry watching Jovie or so we thought.

The end.

Hummingbirds, Butterflies and Moths oh my...

I talked Larry into taking pictures of me with the Hummingbirds landing on my hand to eat.

See how the little bird on the far right is flaring out her tail feathers? She is trying to scare me away by making herself bigger.

One of my favorite smells of spring is the Popcorn tree right by our mailbox. The butterfly enjoys it too.

This beautiful orange colored moth is the biggest moth I have ever seen. It's wing span was 6 inches.

Mother's Day

This was my first Mother's day with no children living at home. I actually had something exciting to look forward later in the day so I didn't really even think about not having anyone here at home until after the day was over. Michael was calling!!! Buuuuttttt in the mean time I had received a wonderful surprise.
The day before Larry and I had gone to help the Stake clean up the campground for Girl's camp and on the way home we stopped at my sister's flower shop. I bought some flowers to plant and as we were leaving she gave me beautiful potted flowers to put on our mother's grave for Mother's day. Since Michael was calling I didn't want to be home any later from church then I had to be so I decided to go to the Cemetery during Sunday School and look what surprise waited me in the parking lot at church!

I actually found these two in the act...lol So I surprised them.

I'm glad I did because then they could go with me to put the flowers on mom's grave. We walked over with the flowers in Jovie's stroller.
Jovie loves to smell the flowers.

We love you mom and miss you!

P.S. The call with Michael was wonderful! He sounded good and after Larry and I talked with him a bit Michael called Rachel and she was able to get everyone in the family on the line and we could all talk at the same time. It was fun to hear the stories the kids bantering back and forth and the love for each other. It was an enjoyable Mother's day.
