Michael's "farewell" weekend

I knew this weekend would eventually come. The last weekend before Michael went on his mission. How much could Michael cram into this last weekend at home balancing between friends and family? I know he didn't get much sleep... I captured a few of the things Michael did with the family.
Michael has been wanting Nathan to show him some Karate things he learned. It was fun to watch them.

Nathan wasn't afraid to go after the bigger guy. lol

I've been cooking some of Michael's favorite foods but one of the things he wanted to eat before he left was Sweet Basil Pizza. I don't blame him it is really yummy!

Michael wasn't the only one who wanted pizza.

Misty (playing the piano), Larry, Joshua, Michael, April and Nathan singing with Parker (one of our seminary students) playing the violin. They were practicing to sing How Great Thou Art. They did a beautiful job! At first it was only going to be three men singing but Nathan and April wanted to join them. We are glad they did they added so much. I believe their wasn't a dry eye in the chapel when they performed it in the ward.

We had a Tri Stake Young Adult activity in Walla Walla that night that of course Michael couldn't miss. Misty, Clara, Rachel, Mae and I went to crash the Ice Skating part. Misty and Rachel put on skates to do some skating with Michael and Mae got a ride around the rink a couple of times with Michael. I don't have a picture of it (Misty does) but actually their were 5 cousins there skating. Matthew and his mom came into town for Michael's farewell and Chantal was there.

I just had to put this picture in, Rachel and Mae had to get in one more annoying wake up for Michael. Old habits are hard to break.

Michael isn't going to be here for Christmathanks next week so Misty and David gave him his present early. A cd player with speakers. He liked it and it will get much use I'm sure.

Michael's talk in Sacrament meeting was really good. He talked on prayer and used lots of scriptures, some personal examples, testimony and tears. The Spirit was definately there.
This is the family that came to see him set apart as a missionary and listen to his talk. We sure are grateful they were their to share this time with us. We missed those who wanted to be here but couldn't come.

Michael crammed much more into this weekend than what I blogged. But after this weekend he was ready to go.
