That's right! I got to spend 10 days with Mae and Owen while their mommy and daddy went to Hawaii. First off once again I'd like to say that I'm happy that I have an iphone that takes decent pictures or I would not have very many pictures of the week. Now let's get to our week...
Mae had gymnastics and the first class she invited Clara to come with her. They had a lot of fun. I'm not sure how fun it was for the teacher though.
Clara's turn on the horse.
We made some Oatmeal bars.
Mae is a big helper in the kitchen. She wanted to share them with her cousins so we delivered some bars to Misty and April's family.
I learned something about Owen this week that I didn't know. He LOVES music. When we went to church the first Sunday I was singing the hymns and he would put his ear up to my mouth so he could listen. In Relief Society he would copy the chorister directing the music. He also tried to play the piano during the lesson. When we were at Misty's house during the week he got to play the piano there. He also enjoys dancing to the music. He likes Backyardigans and one of the reasons I believe is the music that they sing.
The brown chair is good for wrestling and being a trampoline.
Mae wrote her name on the Valentines that she was going to hand out at her school party on Valentine Day.
While we were waiting to go to Gabe's kindermusic class we had a treat at the Rocket Bakery. Yummy!
Gabe is showing us forte and piano, loud and soft. Owen wanted out there with the music I had to keep pulling him back.
One of Mae's favorite things we did during the week was go to Jovie's house and play with Jovie and her barbies.
Babies change a lot in one weeks time and Owen was no exception. He learned to climb, use a spoon and he started walking. He liked helping me empty the dishwasher. You should see how fast I can empty the dishwasher. Oh plus he would sleep all through the night for me, he's a good boy.
I would put cheerios on his spoon and he would put it in his mouth. He liked the cause an effect.
Walking, walking and more walking. I would get on the floor instead of sitting on a chair and so Owen would walk 5 - 6 steps to me and then daily it would just get farther and farther. He loves it.
I gave them their Valentine gifts on Sunday before church. They liked them a lot, well at least Mae did. I also delivered gifts to all the rest of he grand kids. I love being a grandma.
This is Mae after going to church on my last Sunday with them. She wore her pretty pink dress up shoes. The second Sunday she went to class with Jovie. At first she was hesitant and I sat with her and had Owen in the primary sharing time singing time. Owen loved being in their listening to the songs, dancing and walking all over the primary room. The kids were googling all over him. He loved the attention. After a bit Mae allowed me to leave and by her reaction at the end of class she had a wonderful time. They got pencils, cookies and other little goodies. When we were in the car leaving the parking lot Mae says "This church is amazing". I thought it was so cute.
The week is winding down and we are on the last day. One more gymnastics class. This time I took a picture of Owen escaping into the gymn at the end of class.
Mae making a welcome home sign for her mommy and daddy. I guess she had been talking about making one for them for months. She got to help make Misty and David's last year when they were in Hawaii and wanted to make one for her momma and daddy. Owen was napping so he didn't get to help.
The last activity before Rachel and Sean came home was the Valentine Party at school. They had make your own ice cream sundae's, cookies, valentine cards and treats from class mates. Jovie and Mae are in the same school and so we got to be with Jovie too. Fun!
What I week! I'm glad I was able to watch Mae and Owen and spend some one on one time with them. I heard that Mae tries to get her momma to let her do some things I let her like putting ice cream in hot chocolate, making toast sticks and other stuff. Oh well that's what Grandma's are for, spoiling grand kids.

I'm including a picture of Rachel in gymnastics when she was about Mae's age. Like Mother, like daughter those two.
